From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
I think my favorite thing about the fall is the intensity of the harvest colors in my area. On a clear day you almost feel like the world glows with color. If you're not lucky enough to live in a place with changing trees, at least you have Halloween as an excuse to add those colors to your home. Have an Entertaining week!

Decorate Your Home for Halloween
It's time to dust off the Halloween decorations. Or, better yet, time to pull them out of storage to check whether there's enough dust on them. If not, the good news is you can pass up dusting your home until November. If anyone asks, just say it's part of your decorating plan for the season.

Plan an MLB Playoff Game or World Series Party
It's October and, as most sports fans know, baseball season is winding down. If you count yourself among those sad to see baseball season coming to an end, host a party for one of the playoff games or the World Series because, when it's over, it's going to be a long winter before the boys of summer return.

Tips for Planning Your Party Menu
I know that I'm not the only one that drives herself crazy when putting together my party menus. I can spend days pouring through magazines, cookbooks, and websites just looking for the perfect recipes. Over the years I've come up with tricks for making party menu planning easier, saving time as I prepare the recipes, and ways to plan menus that will make life simpler after the party's over. I'll share with you my tips for making this all possible when planning your party menu.

It's Italian American Heritage Month
I was raised as an Italian American in New York City, so Columbus Day was an important holiday. A day off from school, watching the parade and, of course, an Italian American dinner celebration were the norm. But food was always used to celebrate special occasions in our extended Italian family. It wasn't really a holiday without a multi course feast. Join in the spirit of National Italian American Heritage Month by hosting your own Italian American Dinner Party. Maybe you won't cook as much as my grandma did, but whatever you have time to prepare will be worth the effort.
