 | Last Friday, I responded to an email from a friend who wondered which new Mac would be a good fit for her needs. As a mobile vet, she has to bring a computer with her on her daily visits to clients. After I wrote up my recommendation, I went to send the email and found the 'Send' button dimmed out. Has that ever happened to you? I've worked with Apple Mail for years, and I thought I had seen every little problem that could crop up, but that was a new one for me. The problem ended up being an easy one to fix: wrong file permissions on Mail's preference file. The process of troubleshooting the Mail issue was a good candidate for a guide for About: Macs readers. No sooner said than done.
