Kids underfoot this summer? Sick of hearing "I'm bored"? This is the perfect time to teach them about baking and working in the kitchen. Here are several ways to help you, help them be helpful.

Basic Kitchen Rules
As my daughter is just beginning driving a car, I'm reminded of all of my bad driving habits I don't want to pass on to her. It's the same with baking and working in the kitchen. Print-off these simple kitchen rules as a reminder to everyone, young and old.

Baking Sugar Cookies
For those of you who have been around awhile, please forgive me. You've heard this many times, but I think sugar cookies are the best way to being teaching your child how to bake. The young ones can decorate the cookies. The next older kids can roll and cut-out the cookies. The older kids can make the cookie dough and be in charge of removing them from the oven.

Making Muffins and Other Quick Breads
Making muffins and other quick breads, like banana bread, are perfect for your double digit kids to make. Here are the step-by-step photo instructions.

Using the Bread Machine
Speaking of bread, using the bread machine couldn't be easier for the budding baker. It just needs someone who understands measuring ingredients and can read instructions.
