Classic French Dishes

From Rebecca Franklin, Your Guide to French Food.

I went to the grocery store two nights ago and saw a crazy thing: aisle upon aisle of food was completely cleared out. Why, you ask? We had a monstrous snow storm, with about 2 feet of snow falling in 18 hours. We have another big one forecast to hit within a few hours and it is pandemonium in the local markets. Milk, bread, bananas, and - surprisingly - potato chips are all gone. Instead of panicking like the rest of the region, I have put together a fantastic winter menu of items commonly found in the kitchen. I hope you enjoy it... And if you happen to be in the path of this latest snowstorm, stay safe and warm. Be sure to visit the French food homepage for the latest recipes, articles, and photo tutorials.
