Chinese New Year Menus
While attending an elaborate 12 course banquet at a Chinese restaurant is a great way to celebrate Chinese New Year, it's also fun to host your own Chinese New Years' party at home. Here are a number of menu ideas to celebrate Chinese New Year - each menu includes at least one recipe that symbolizes good fortune or has other lucky connotations in Chinese culture.

Lucky Lettuce Wraps
Lettuce wraps are the perfect finger food to serve at a Chinese New Year's party, as the Cantonese word for lettuce, sang choi, sounds like "rising fortune."

Lobster Cantonese
This dish represents good fortune in the upcoming year. This Lobster Cantonese recipe uses lobster tails, saving the work of having to deal with a live lobster.

Spicy Egg Foo Yung With Shrimp
This recipe from a reader uses white sauce and is seasoned with cayenne and sweet hot pepper or hot chili sauce.
