Midwest: Sybaris Pool Suites
Sybaris locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin offer couples a sexy getaway where they can focus on each other with no distractions. Some suites have a private heated indoor pool, others a Jacuzzi tub big enough for two.
| Missouri: Hotel Ignacio
 Contributor Clint Brownfield returned to St. Louis to check out this brand-new hotel he calls "art-filled urban oasis in the neighborhood that defines St. Louis's vibrant art scene" and adds, "in addition to couples like you, others staying at the hotel may be cast members of touring Broadway shows and artists whose work is on display at local galleries and museums."
| Connecticut: Mayflower Inn & Spa
 "The 58-acre Mayflower Inn & Spa is an oasis of gentility in the Connecticut countryside two hours from New York City," writes contributor Allan Hoving. The author maintains: "Abiding awhile in this privileged state of grace inevitably brings you closer together." PS: Children under 12 are not allowed.
| Utah: Sundance Resort
Offering outdoors lovers plenty to do in every season, Sundance Resort is a particular haven for skiers. Mount Timpanogos soars to 12.000 feet and the resort's more than 40 beginner to expert trails are spread over 500 acres. Just don't try to get a room during the Sundance Film Festival in January, when film folk take over the town and the resort.
