From Anitra Brown, your Guide to Spas
Every year the International SPA Association holds a Media event in NYC where spas feature interesting new treatments. This year I was captivated by the Taiz Sensorium from Miraval in Arizona and Chakra Gardens from Aspira in Wisconsin, but had two very different reactions. Plus, find out how spas are participating in Breast Cancer Awareness month, coming up in October. And you can still make appointments for Spa Week, with those great $50 spa treatments.

The Taiz Sensorium
It looks like a torture chamber. But the Taiz Sensorium from Miraval Spa in Tucson, Arizona is an all-enveloping experience that sends you into a state of deep relaxation almost instantly.

Can Flowers Balance Your Chakras?
Chakra Gardens is treatment that uses the colors from flowers to balance the chakras while a therapist does energy work on you. It looks great, but I couldn't get those flowers off fast enough.

Spas & Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and some spas are supporting it with free treatments for breast cancer survivors, "pink" treatments to raise awareness, and donations to breast cancer organizations.

$50 Spa Treatments During Spa Week
Spa Week is the eagerly anticipated twice-a-year event where you can get $50 spa treatments throughout the U.S. and Canada for a week. The next Spa Week is coming up in October.
