| | At Disneyland's recent press shindig, I went under the sea with Ariel in the new Little Mermaid ride and into the far reaches of outer space with Darth Vader and his Star Wars buddies aboard the retooled Star Tours. | | Disney Puts the Tours in Star Tours I remember riding the original Star Tours during its soft opening in late 1986. As the first large-scale motion simulator ride at a theme park, it was quite a revelation. All these years later (and many motion simulator rides later), Star Tours 2.0 was, likewise, a revelation. It's a vast improvement over the original attraction in nearly every way. And in one significant way--its ability to sample a bunch of scenes and randomly cobble together a ride sequence--it is quite astonishing. Passengers are able to experience a different ride nearly every time. This is a game-changer folks.
