| | I've always loved tofu, but I love it even more this week, since I found it going for 5 blocks for a dollar at the Asian grocery store near my yoga studio! If you have an indoor grill, plug it in and try your favorite baked tofu recipes on the grates. It's much quicker, and you get that enticing sizzling sound as your tofu sears away. Not that there's anything wrong with baked tofu either! Here's a couple of the best of each - grilled and baked. | | Grilled tofu satay It's all in the sauce. This is an easy recipe, inspired by Indonesian and Thai satay recipes, for a simple grilled tofu satay in a simple coconut, curry paste and peanut butter satay sauce. It's vegetarian, vegan, and absolutely finger-licking delicious. There's also only 4 ingredients in the sauce, so it's deceptively simple. | Baked tofu Make fishy-flavored vegetarian "fish sticks" using tofu and seaweed flakes. These easy baked or fried tofu mock-fish sticks are low in fat if you bake them, and will be a hit with the kids. Serve with a vegan tartar sauce, ketchup, or even ranch dressing or barbecue sauce. Everyone loves this recipe! | Hoisin-glazed grilled tofu Grill your tofu in a tangy Asian hoisin-based sauce for an unusual barbecued tofu recipe. Perfect for your vegetarian or vegan barbecue. It's always best to let the tofu marinade in the hoisin sauce mixture for several hours before grilling, so prepare in advance - even the night before your barbecue! I also love broccoli grilled in hoisin sauce. I haven't tried this exact recipe in the oven, but I imagine it would work just fine. | Lemon basil baked tofu If you like lemon chicken, try this vegetarian recipe for lemon baked tofu. With basil, lemon and Dijon mustard, it's a bit different from the usual baked tofu recipes, but it's always a hit.
