Ah, we're relaxing our stomach muscles this week after our neighbor's 5 course, 4 hour Easter lunch by taking the long plane ride home to California. Nothing like airplane food to start your diet right.

Osteria del Castello
We had an interesting visit to one of Chianti's top wineries, and learned all about the genius of Barone Ricasoli, for whom the winery is named, and the inventor of the "recipe" for Chianti wine, among other things. The winery has acquired a restaurant where you might sample the wines with food. Is it good? Read the review.

Crete!
Word is just in that staff and volunteers are finished with clearing the fallen branches and rocks along the footpaths of the Samaria Gorge, and it's ready for it's planned May 1st opening. France Rail Map
France is a great place for train travel. You can get to many rural wine regions on the train, and the fast service to Avignon and Lyon makes a relaxing trip.
