From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
All that's left around here to do is a little more wrapping a lot more cookie baking (I can never get my fill!) Enjoy your celebrations this weekend and have an Entertaining week!

Tips for Cleaning Your House Before, During and After Your Party
We're preparing for a holiday party this weekend, so as much as it's my least favorite part of party preparations, I need to do a bit of cleaning before my guests arrive. But as I just said, it's my least favorite part of preparing for a party, so I'm always looking for good tips to make short work of this chore. Here is a collection of some of my favorite house cleaning tips for before, during and after a party, I hope it will help some of you to get through this piece of your party prep quickly too.

Fun Books for Cooks and Foodies
If you or someone you know loves food and books that have to do with cooking and eating, you'll want to take a look at these fun books for cooks that were published in 2010. They will make a thoughtful hostess gift or little treat just for yourself to sit and savor just for the fun of it.

Christmas Eve Seafood for a Crowd
In many traditions, particularly Italian, Christmas Eve dinner means an all or partial, multi-course seafood feast. Some households will prepare anywhere from 7 to 13 fishes as part of this meal - a daunting challenge for any home cook. Here's a menu that will help the host prepare as much as possible before the guests begin to drop by.

Are You Ready for Your Classroom Party?
I was just speaking with a friend who is the head room parent for her daughter's classroom. She told me about the food and the craft activity that's been planned for their winter party next week. Then with a sigh of relief she told me that another parent had volunteered to organize the games for the class. That always seems to be the hardest part of planning any classroom party. You need a game that will hold the children's attention, but nothing that's too wild or active for an indoor party. If you have any great indoor classroom party games, I invite you to share them with other room parents so they too can breathe a sigh of relief.
