Vegetarian Holidays

From Jolinda Hackett, your Guide to Vegetarian Food
"Tofurky Day" is right around the corner, and last year's Tofurky Soda is back. Yes, that's right: Tofurky Soda. Of course, if you really want to "have" a turkey this year, why not adopt one from the Farm Sanctuary? Ellen did.

Tofurky Buyer's Guide
If you live outside the US, the UK or Canada, you'll need to order your Tofurky online, but otherwise, find out where you can buy your Tofurky, which one to try, and scroll through the list of stores that carry Tofurky in your city, state or province.

Tofurky Recipes
No matter which Tofurky you decide to buy, or where you buy it, the box will come with basic preparation instructions. However, just like a real turkey, you can marinate, baste, and even deep-fry your vegetarian Tofurky. Try some of these recipes to add extra flavor to your Tofurky roast.

Homemade Turkey Substitutes
If you're more of the DIY (do it yourself!) type, or you just don't feel like shelling out the bucks for a Tofurky (or Veggie Turkey or Celebration roast), you may want to make your own vegetarian turkey from tofu! Here's a couple ways to do it:
  • Tofu Turkey with Stuffing
  • Tofu Turkey Loaf
  • Video Recipe: How to Make Homemade Tofu Turkey

  • Tofurky not your thing?
If you're not excited about serving a Tofurky this Thanksgiving, there's still plenty of wonderful entrees that can serve as the centerpiece of your holiday table. Scroll through these dozens of fall entree ideas
