From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
We're almost ready for Halloween. The decorations are up, the costumes have been prepared, and the candy has been purchased and hidden away from my frustrated family. Tee hee. Have an Entertaining week and a fun Halloween!

Host a Monster Theme Halloween Party
My older daughter is planning on dressing up as a princess vampire for Halloween, pretty much in keeping with her ongoing interest in vampire tales that began with the "Twilight" series. My younger one is going to make a bizarre twist to last year's costume (I can't wait to see how it turns out). That's why I think we can't go wrong with a Monster Theme Halloween party.

A Gothic Theme Halloween Party
Charlie Brown and pumpkins are just fine for setting the Halloween party mood for some people. But then there are those Halloween party hosts who prefer things to be a bit gloomier and creepier. Pumpkin patches are for the kids, haunted houses and vampires are more their style. If you're more interested in the Addams Family, gloomy side of Halloween, then a Gothic Theme Halloween Party may just be the right style for you.

A Harry Potter Theme Halloween Party
The "Harry Potter" series is a perfect theme on which to base a Halloween party for all ages. And with the new movie opening in a few weeks, enthusiasm will be strong for this theme.

Plan a Pirate Theme Party
Even if your friends aren't into scary monster costumes, if wizards leave them cold, and gothic castles are too gloomy, they may enjoy the spirit of adventure and romance that a pirate theme inspires.
