Vegetable Rice
One of my favorite side dishes - Chinese stir-fried vegetables are added to cooking rice, imparting a nice flavor to the rice. There are several variations of this Shanghai dish. In this Vegetable Rice Recipe the bok choy is replaced with Napa Cabbae, and the mushrooms with Chinese Sausage.

Maddy's Fried Rice With Chicken and Prawns
Here is a recipe for fried rice with a Southeast Asian flavor. The recipe calls for Chinese sausage (Lop Cheong). A reader asked if it was okay to substitute Mexican Chorizo. That's fine, although the flavor will be a bit different.

Chicken Stir-fry With Pine Nuts
Velveted chicken breasts are paired with spinach and toasted pine nuts.

Sesame Seed Fried Custard
Fried sweets are popular in many cultures. In this recipe, the deep-fried custard is topped with a mixture of toasted sesame seeds and powdered sugar.
