From Arthur Levine, your Guide to Theme Parks
There will be no shortage of phony blood at Fright Fest, the Halloween events that all Six Flags parks will be staging during October weekends. Unfortunately, there is a chronic shortage of real blood, so Six Flags will be teaming up with the Red Cross to conduct blood drives as part of Fright Fest. What an inspired--and inspiring--tie-in.

Six Flags is Out for Blood
For Fright Fest, each park will present its own haunted mazes, costumed ghouls, and other themed fun. Six Flags Over Georgia, for example, will invite guests to be buried alive--no kidding! I'll tackle pretty much any coaster out there, but I draw the line at climbing into a coffin, being lowered into the ground, and having dirt shoveled onto me. And you? Speaking of coasters, most of Six Flags' rides will be open during the Halloween festivities. Get a park-by-park rundown of dates, shows, and other details in my Six Flags Fright Fest 2010 guide.
