| | Lots to share with you this week, theme park fans, including a new Harry Potter video, a new Disney parks promotion, and a bunch of new mini reviews of roller coasters at Carowinds. Ready? Come on, everybody! Here we goooooooooo! | | New Harry Potter Video! No, I don't have any new scenes from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film to share with you. But I DO have a new video of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter land at Universal Orlando for you. If you're thinking of making your way to Universal's Islands of Adventure to see Harry and the gang, the video offers a great overview of the highly themed land and its incredible attractions. For example, The Wizarding World's creative director, Thierry Coup, offers some insight into the development of the signature attraction, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. According to an announcement made by the Mouse in New York City today, guests will be able to have their images projected onto the outside of it's a small world (sic) at Disneyland and Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom as part of a new nightly show. User-generated videos, images, and stories will also be featured on a Disney website and in television commercials to promote the parks. While the idea is clever, the promotion doesn't quite have the panache (or the giveaways) of past campaigns, such as What Will You Celebrate? or The Year of a Million Dreams. Learn how you can get your face plastered onto an iconic castle and other details of Disney's Let the Memories Begin event. But the park has an impressive lineup of other coasters, including the world-class inverted thrill machine, Afterburn (formerly known as Top Gun); the twin-track, racing woodie, Thunder Road; and the standup coaster, Vortex. I rate and pontificate about those and other rides in my new mini reviews of Carowinds Roller Coasters | This Week's Theme Park News | | | | Theme Parks Ads | | | | Featured Articles | | | | | | Sign up for more free newsletters on your favorite topics | | | | You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed to the About Theme Parks newsletter.
