From Setsuko Yoshizuka, your Guide to Japanese Food
Hi everyone! Do you like fried shrimp? Breaded and fried shrimp are as popular as korokke and tonkatsu in Japan.

Japanese Recipe of the Week: Deep Fried Breaded Shrimp
Breaded and deep fried shrimp are called ebi (shrimp) fry or ebi furai. I like eating ebi fry with homemade tartar sauce which is easy to make. Serve crispy ebi fry with shredded cabbage.

Adding Color to Your Bento

Mabo Nasu
I cooked lots of eggplants this summer. Eggplants can be boiled, grilled, steamed, simmered, fried, pickled, and more. Mabo nasu is a spicy eggplant dish which tastes similar to mabo dofu. If you like mabo dofu, you probably enjoy this spicy eggplants.
