From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
The back-to-school shopping has begun, which means our summer days are numbered. I plan to hold on as tightly as I can to the flavors and attitude of the season before the school bags and notebooks take center stage. Have an Entertaining week!

High Praise for a Taco Bar Party
The reader tip I'm sharing today got me all jazzed up to plan my own Taco Bar Party. I've written before about planning a Make Your Own Taco Party, but this tip includes hiring assistance (something I'm appreciating more with time), and then adding a few extra personal touches. Read this tip for yourself and see if you feel as enthused as I now feel about planning my next Taco Bar Party.

Plan a Summer Seafood Feast
We returned from our seaside vacation last weekend, and although I've unpacked our suitcases, I'm really not settled back in at home. I'm especially missing our delicious seafood dinners. Fortunately, it's not as hard to recreate a Summer Seafood Feast as it is to recapture those carefree afternoons at the beach.

Host a Caribbean Theme Dinner Party
Even in the heat of summer, a mental vacation in the Caribbean is an acceptable break from the heat. Dreaming about swimming in the clear, azure waters cools me off right away. So when you're in need of a little mental rest and relaxation and can't get away for a real vacation, I recommend that you bring the tastes and smells of the islands into your home with a Caribbean dinner party.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of "Green Eggs and Ham"
Camp is over and all that's left to summer is boredom and back-to-school shopping. If my girls were still little, I would fill one of the remaining days before school with a Dr. Seuss Party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "Green Eggs and Ham". Dr. Seuss' books tickled the imaginations of old and young, and made it so that repeated readings didn't wear out parents before the kids at bedtime. Hmm, maybe my girls aren't so old that we can't have a Dr. Seuss Party after all.
