We're days away from WWDC 2010, where new products and features will take center stage. According to pre-event marketing, this WWDC will focus on Apple's mobile platforms, but we're hoping for a few Mac-related updates as well.

In the meantime, I've spent the last two weeks using a very fast SSD (Solid State Drive) as the startup drive for my Mac. I was impressed, to say the least, and very sorry when the evaluation time was up and I had to send the product back.

The other bit of fun this week was running Snow Leopard as a guest OS within VirtualBox, a virtualization application from Oracle. Pretty nifty, running Snow Leopard as a client OS on top of Snow Leopard as the host.


OWC Mercury Extreme Pro RE SSD Review
OWC's Mercury Extreme Pro RE SSD is the fastest SSD (Solid State Drive) I've ever installed and used on my Mac. I haven't been a fan of SSDs in the past. Sure, they deliver pretty good performance, but at a high price tag. In addition, their ability to maintain performance over their expected lifetime has been less than impressive.
