Big cities in Europe lure travelers with their art and cultural artifacts, their big city food served by famous chefs and glittering nightlife that spills over to morning. But there's something to be said for the quiet life. You don't have to stray far; you can get a feel for the country life within view of the glittering lights of an enormous city like Rome, as in our Picture of the Week, taken along the ancient Via Flaminia.
