In the last newsletter I said that thanks to all the rain we've had our lawn is a lively, vibrant green. And it is. But the heavy rain is proving more problematic to agriculture. Winemakers are beginning to worry about fungus and mold in the vineyards (with crop losses of up to 40-50%), while those who depend upon hay to feed their livestock say that the rains have ruined the first growth, which is usually the best, and as a result milk and cheese production will suffer. While even rice growers are worried: It has been too wet to seed the rice paddies. Too much of a good thing...
