Vegetarian Holidays

From Jolinda Hackett, your Guide to Vegetarian Food
Save this newsletter. Don't delete it. Next time you find yourself staring at the mock meat aisle of the grocery store wondering what they're all about, grab a few mock meats, and come back and read through these recipes for the answer of what to do with vegetarian sausages. Don't forget to stop by the vegetarian forums to see what everyone's been chatting about this week!

Pizza topping!
Make an all-vegetarian meaty meat-lovers pizza using your store-bought sausage substitute. This recipe calls for lightly browned sausage, and pairs it with artichoke hearts and pesto, but you can also just add cooked veggie sausage to your usual homemade pizza recipe.

Fry-up for breakfast or anytime
Fry up some vegetarian Italian "sausages" to add to a normal stir-fry recipe. A few bell peppers might also go well with this basic stir-fry. Try it alongside toast for breakfast. I used Lightlife brand's Italian sausages in this recipe, and absolutely loved it! They taste much better than they look, promise.

Burrito filling
Sausage crumbles work great in a burrito, and give you a protein boost to get you moving first thing in the morning. Try this breakfast burrito recipe with vegetarian sausage, eggs, and cheese.
