From Tom Nelson, your Guide to Macs
With the holiday season here, it seems like the perfect time for reviews of a few items that would make great gifts. I've also assembled a list of sites where you can download holiday-themed wallpaper for your Mac.

And if that isn't enough to whet your holiday shopping appetite, consider the great deals you will find at the Apple refurb store, highlighted in the Mac News & Events section of this newsletter.

VMware Fusion 4 Review
VMware Fusion and Parallels are the two leading choices for running Windows or other OSes on a Mac. These two apps have been so popular with About: Macs users that each has won Readers' Choice Awards over the last two years.

Oops...was I not supposed to mention the home theater system you're getting this year? My bad... Read more

Even though we must be on the road a great deal, we have to be able to perform the same workload we do every day at our home office.

Since it's a bit difficult to carry an iMac or Mac Pro around, the 15-inch MacBook Pro seemed like a good model to consider. If you're wondering what features I looked for, then you will find this buying guide to all the 2011 MacBook Pros just the thing for a bit of light reading... Read more
